How it works

  1. Open your InstantTranscriber dashboard and choose Record another tab.
  2. Select the tab you want to capture and enable Share tab audio.
  3. Click Record, then play the audio or video in that tab.
  4. Stop the recording to upload and start transcription automatically.
  5. Download your transcript as TXT, DOCX, PDF, SRT, or VTT.

Common issues and fixes

Not supported in Safari or Firefox; use Chrome or Edge.

Forgetting to enable Share tab audio results in silent recordings.

Muted tabs or very low volume reduce transcription accuracy.

DRM-protected streams may block audio capture.

Can I record Chrome tab audio and transcribe it?

Yes. In Chrome, choose Record another tab, select the tab, enable Share tab audio, then stop the recording to upload and transcribe it automatically.

Which browsers support tab audio recording?

Tab audio capture works in Chrome and Edge. Safari and Firefox do not support the required tab audio API.

Can I use this as a Chrome tab recorder with audio?

Why did my recording have no sound?

Make sure Share tab audio is checked when selecting the tab. Also confirm the tab is not muted.
