You have a recording. You want the words. Starting today, you can try InstantTranscriber without signing up first: drop a file on the home page, or choose Record audio and speak into your microphone.
The “instant” in our name now starts a little earlier. You can go straight to your recording, with no email form between you and your first transcript. Processing still takes time and depends on the recording and the current queue; the instant part is getting started.
How to transcribe without an account
- Open InstantTranscriber and drop an audio or video file into the upload area, or choose Record audio.
- Complete a short verification if prompted. Your guest session starts when you use the transcription tools, not just because you visit the page.
- Choose your transcription options and start. When processing finishes, review the text, speaker labels and timestamps, and export your transcript.
The workspace opens on the page. You can also open the full workspace if you prefer more room. Existing accounts and the original web app continue to work.
What is included for guests?
You can start up to three free transcriptions per day, with files up to 35 minutes and 50 MB. The guest limit applies to your session and your network, and resets at midnight in Berlin. People sharing a home, office or campus network can share that allowance. Clearing browser data does not reset the network limit.
Guest transcripts use the same transcription workspace, including the supported TXT, DOCX, PDF, SRT and VTT exports. Recording from a browser tab is available in supported browsers; microphone recording depends on your browser’s permission settings.
Keep your work when you are ready
Your guest session is remembered in this browser. It expires after 90 days without activity; using the workspace extends that session period. Guest transcripts are kept for 90 days from creation, and completed recordings are eligible for media removal after 24 hours. Keeping a session active does not extend each transcript’s retention period.
Clearing browser storage, switching to another browser, or closing a private-browsing session can remove your access. Export anything you want to keep, or choose Save my transcripts to finish creating a free account. Your guest history comes with you, and you can access your account from another device. If you already have an account, sign in from the guest workspace to bring your transcripts across.
A free account keeps your history beyond the guest period. Premium remains a separate choice for larger files, longer recordings and higher limits; signing up does not automatically give you Premium.
A simpler first visit
The home page loads its content before the full transcription workspace. Browsing the site stays quick, and the upload and recording tools load when you choose to use them.
