Instant access. No credit card required.

Sign up is required before recording/transcribing.

How it works

  1. Open your InstantTranscriber dashboard and choose Record tab + microphone for meetings, or Record another tab for tab-only audio.
  2. Select the tab you want to capture and enable Share tab audio.
  3. Allow microphone access if you want your own voice included.
  4. Click Record, then play the audio, video, or meeting in that tab.
  5. Stop the recording to upload one mixed audio file and start transcription automatically.
  6. Download your transcript as TXT, DOCX, PDF, SRT, or VTT.

Common use cases

Meeting recorder without an extension

Record Zoom Web, Google Meet, or Teams in Chrome or Edge and include your microphone so the transcript captures both sides of the conversation.

Sales calls, interviews, and research sessions

Keep your own questions, follow-ups, and clarifications in the same transcript as the other participant's audio.

Webinars and livestreams

Capture the tab audio when you only need the host, presenter, or streamed content.

Online classes and tutorials

Turn a lesson, demo, or training tab into searchable notes with timestamps.

Common issues and fixes

Not supported in Safari or Firefox; use Chrome or Edge.

Forgetting to enable Share tab audio results in silent recordings.

Tab-only recording usually captures other speakers, not your local microphone; choose Record tab + microphone for meetings.

Native desktop meeting apps are not captured by tab recording; open the meeting in a browser tab.

Muted tabs or very low volume reduce transcription accuracy.

DRM-protected streams may block audio capture.

FAQ

Can I record Chrome tab audio and transcribe it?

Yes. In Chrome, choose Record another tab, select the tab, enable Share tab audio, then stop the recording to upload and transcribe it automatically.

Which browsers support tab audio recording?

Tab audio capture works in Chrome and Edge. Safari and Firefox do not support the required tab audio API.

Can I use this as a Chrome tab recorder with audio?

Yes. InstantTranscriber can record audio from a Chrome tab when Share tab audio is enabled, then convert that recording into a transcript.

Can I record the tab and my microphone at the same time?

Yes. Choose Record tab + microphone to mix Chrome or Edge tab audio with your microphone into one recording before transcription. This is useful for browser meetings where you need both the other participants and your own voice.

Do I need a Chrome extension to record a browser meeting?

No. InstantTranscriber uses browser tab capture in Chrome or Edge, so you can record a meeting tab with your microphone from the web app. An extension is not required for this workflow.

Why did my recording have no sound?

Make sure Share tab audio is checked when selecting the tab. Also confirm the tab is not muted.
